Rogers Takes Valentine, Crusher Cops Buddy Rogers won two out three falls to defeat Johnny Valentine in the main bout of the wrestling show before 10,850 fans at the Civic Auditorium last night. Rogers won the first fall in 12:45 with a choke hold. Valentine copped the second fall at 10:30 but Rogers scored the deciding fall at 2:16 with a body press. Crusher Lisowski defeated Bruno Sammartino in the third and deciding fall when the referee disqualified Bruno for failing to get back into the ring. The time of the ruling was 5:36. Each had scored one fall earlier. In a tag match the Kangaroos defeated Argentine Apollo and Carl Milano on 12:22. Ace Freeman whipped Chet Wallick in 9:35 and Shorty Baba tossed Fred Adkins in 3:50. Moose Cholak disposed of Big Daddy Siki in 11:31. In another tag team match Zivko Kovacic and Steve Novak defeated John Kace and Nick Volkoff in two out of three falls. The Bonecracker flattened Miguel Torres in 2:28; John Defazio put away Gypsy Joe in 8:23 and Alex Kostopoulos defeated Billy Fox in 6:36. |
